An Elastic Plain Bandage is a stretchable, flexible bandage used in order to provide localized pressure at the site of a wound or injury. The pressure helps reduce the flow of blood to the area of injury. Elastic bandages are commonly used to treat muscle sprains and bone fractures by providing support and other conditions that require compression. The materials of a plain elastic bandage determines the level of compression and sustainability of compression over a period of time.
STAYGUARD™ IS THE BRAND OF CHOICE
StayGuard™ Elastic Plain Bandages are specifically designed and produced according to maximum effectiveness and user comfort. A range of materials, including PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), spandex, rubber and cotton, ensure a compression bandage solution for every injury. In addition to providing compression, elastic plain bandages are also widely used for protecting all types of skin wounds and for the changing of wound dressings. StayGuard™ elastic bandages are comfortable and convenient for extended use. Our elastic bandages are ISO, CE, and USFDA standards certified.
StayGuard™ Cooling Elastic Bandage has recently been developed to reduce recovery time from injuries by combining a cooling sensation with compression. A specially formulated solution is infused into the bandage material which evaporates upon contact with skin, causing reduced swelling and sufficient cooling to relieve pain.
PRODUCT USAGE
StayGuard™ elastic plain bandages are widely used in hospitals, clinics, sports facilities, rehabilitation facilities, and households. Available in various sizes and colors, our elastic bandages are also commonly sold in retail stores. However, elastic bandages should only be applied by a trained medical professional as the level of compression and wrapping technique can be counterproductive to a proper healing process if not properly applied.

Our products are also available as latex-free for those with allergies or reactions to rubber. Why do I need an elastic bandage?
An elastic bandage puts gentle, even pressure on the tissue around an injury to decrease pain and swelling. It also gives support to an injured area. You may need an elastic bandage for any of the following reasons:
• To improve blood flow to a limb
• To wrap around a limb splint during healing
• To hold bandages in place
• To hold cold or hot packs in place
How do I use an elastic bandage?
StayGuard™ Elastic bandages come in many different sizes and lengths. The following steps will help you wrap an elastic bandage around your ankle. You can also wrap an elastic bandage around your knee, wrist, or elbow.
1) Hold the bandage so that the beginning of the roll is facing up.
2) Start the loose end of the bandage on the top of your foot beneath your toes. Leave your toes out of the bandage.
3) Hold the loose end of the bandage in place with one hand. With the other hand, wrap the bandage in a circle twice around your foot. Always wrap the bandage from outside to inside.
4) After the top of your foot has been wrapped twice, move your hand to your heel.
5) Continue to wrap the bandage in a spiral pattern but leave your heel uncovered. Overlap the elastic bandage by half of its width each time you go around.
a. Cross the bandage over your foot, moving upward, and pass it behind your ankle.
b. Move the bandage down and cross it over the top of your foot.
c. Wrap the bandage under your foot. Repeat this one more time.
6) Pass the bandage around your calf and wrap it in upward circles toward your knee. Stop wrapping below your knee. You do not need to wrap the bandage down your calf again.
7) Fasten the end to the rest of the bandage. Do not use metal clips where your skin folds or creases, such as behind your knee.
What are some safety and comfort tips when using StayGuard™ elastic bandage?
• Do not wrap the bandage too tight because it may cut off blood flow.
• Take off the bandage at least 2 times a day. Leave it off for a few minutes then wrap it again. Ask your caregiver if you should leave the bandage off at night.
• Remove the bandage if you have numbness or tingling or your limb turns cold or pale. Gently rub the area. Rewrap the bandage when the area feels better.
• Wash the bandage each day or when it gets limp. Keep an extra elastic bandage in case the one you are wearing gets wet or dirty.
